The pitahaya plant | 麒麟果 is a relative of the cactus. Its exotic fruit is called pitahaya or also dragon fruit (or in English dragon fruit). Not only does it look beautiful, the pitahaya is also heartily delicious! The fruit has a yellow or red (红心火龙果) variety and white or red juicy flesh with all little black seeds. The slightly sweet flavour is reminiscent of a combination of melon and kiwi. The fruit is ripe when you can peel it as easily as a banana.
